CIAA Tournament Week Shootings

Over the past couple of years, the CIAA Tournament week has been plagues by senseless shootings. As a result, the city of Charlotte has started to crack down on unauthorized parties, events and gatherings related to the CIAA tournament weekend.

In 2017, the rapper Young Dolph was involved in the most recent shooting. Over 100 shots were fired at the rapper’s car. Fortunately, he was not injured, and was able to perform later that evening (you determine that’s brave or stupid).

Why has this type of senseless violence become a repetitive occurrence during the tournament? Will this type of thing continue? Will local enforcement start to crack down, unfortunately leaving law bidding party goers to pay the price?

I guess only time will tell.
