CIAA 2017 parties were epic. What started as a vision in 1941 turned into spectacular reality five years later with the birth of the CIAA postseason college basketball tournament. By the time the tournament turned 60 years old in 2006, CIAA officials decided to find a permanent home for the weekend contests. After years of rotating venues in Virginia and North Carolina, the CIAA selected Charlotte to host the tournament in late February. The tournament experienced a dramatic increase in attendance, which CIAA officials attributed to the stability of the venue and the myriad social and cultural attraction in Charlotte. As we enter the second decade of the new millennium, the CIAA tournament features several future NBA players and weekend coverage of the games by the “Worldwide Leader in Sports,” ESPN.
What to Expect for CIAA 2017
With record crowds comes sell outs for virtually every matchup during CIAA 2017 weekend. Tickets are hard to come by before the big weekend and anyone who arrives to Charlotte without a ticket must find tickets online. Scalping tickets on the streets of Charlotte is strictly prohibited. CIAA 2017 Weekend Parties and Events
During the entire CIAA 2017 weekend that runs from February 20 through February 25, the city of Charlotte lights up at night with night parties and pulsates during the day with day parties. The parties range from intimate affairs held in private dining areas at Uptown restaurants to big bashes hosted by alumni throwing class reunion parties in large hotel ballrooms. Of the more than 200 CIAA 2017 parties, several events feature celebrities from the film, sports, music, and television genres. The celebrity parties are typically invitation only events, although some celebrities like to party at Uptown nightclubs. Fans attending either of the two venues should see at least one star make the rounds in the arenas.
