Charlotte is a growing city, that will now be the host to the 2019 all star weekend. However, it is not a stretch to say that Charlotte is Michael Jordan’s city. Evidence of the tremendous impact Jordan has on the NBA goes on display in February 2019, when the “Queen City” hosts the 2019 all star weekend.

Legacy of One of the Greats

Michael Jordan was cut from his North Carolina high school varsity basketball team, which only made possibly the greatest NBA player double down to dedicate his life to achieving his dream of playing professional basketball. At the University of North Carolina, Dean Smith molded Jordan into a fierce competitor who led the Tar Heels to the national championship.

Jordan won six NBA titles with the Bulls, as well as several Most Valuable Player Awards. Yet, Air Jordan was much more than a one dimensional basketball player. In the same year, Jordan led the league in scoring and earned the NBA’s Best Defensive Player of the year award. His drive to win laid the foundation for the Bulls success, as the team took the first seven years of Jordan’s career to win it all.

Principal Owner of the Charlotte Hornets

Michael Jordan is more than the principal owner of the Charlotte Hornets. He is the face of basketball in the State of North Carolina. By promoting Charlotte to host the 2019 all star weekend, Jordan has elevated his game to one achieved by few civic leaders. Hotels and restaurants will book full throughout the entire weekend, as parties take place in every possible venue. Where Michael Jordan stops by to engage fans is not known, but stay posted at TourneyParties.com to see where Air Jordan celebrates the 2019 all star weekend.

2019 All Star Weekend – What Charlotte Brings to the Table

For decades, Atlanta was considered the capital of the southeast United States, and in many ways the city remains the social, cultural, and historical epicenter of the southeast. However, Charlotte’s rapid growth over the past 20 years has moved the “Queen City” closer to Hotlanta. Charlotte city leaders encouraged investment in hotels and restaurants to make Uptown an attractive option for hosting big time events such as 2019 all star weekend. The presentation made to the NBA by Jordan and other civic leaders emphasized the large number of hotel rooms available for fans within a short walking distance of the Spectrum Center. The coalition from Charlotte also promoted the state-of-the-art public transportation system featuring a light rail line that travels to and from the 2019 NBA all star game venue.

Michael Jordan hosts one party inside of the Spectrum Center during the 2019 NBA all star game for fellow owners and NBA dignitaries. Although details have not yet been released, there is speculation the game will feature a half time commemoration of Jordan’s history making career. To consider Jordan a celebrity requires little thought.

All you have to do is remember that during and shortly after his playing career, Michael Jordan was the most popular and recognized athlete in the world.
