The high caliber of basketball grabbed the attention from ESPN, which now televises some of the games in prime time on one of the many networks operated by the company. 2019 CIAA Weekend Parties
CIAA weekend 2019 should set a record for the number of parties hosted throughout Charlotte. Since 2006, the “Queen City” has provided the perfect ambiance for CIAA parties to thrive. The tournament has reached such a popular level that celebrities such as Lil Wayne and Odell Beckham Jr. either host or attend one of the 200 CIAA parties held in Charlotte. Many of the parties welcome alumni from the different schools participating in the tournament. Book Hotel Rooms Early
More than 100,000 fans attended CIAA 2018, with event organizers expecting more fans to visit Charlotte in 2019 to watch quality basketball. Although Charlotte has experienced a significant increase in the number of hotel rooms in uptown, you still need to reserve a room as soon as you finalize your travel plans. CIAA weekend 2019 takes place at the end of February and/or the beginning of March. We recommend booking hotel rooms at least six months in advance of CIAA 2019, especially if you are in charge of booking hotel rooms for a large group of fans.
Take Public Transportation
Many CIAA weekend 2019 fans will take public transportation to the two hosting venues: Spectrum Center and Bojangles Coliseum. Uptown becomes incredibly congested not just on the interstates, but also the major roads that take visitors to and from the arenas. Charlotte has developed a model public transportation system, with buses doing all of the work uptown and the light rail system bringing fans into the area from all over metro Charlotte. One of the major draws of CIAA 2019 will be the scheduling of both the men’s and women’s college basketball tournament. The unique format is the only major college basketball tournament that offers spectators the best in women’s and men’s college basketball. The concurrent running of the tournaments is the primary reason why the CIAA expanded the tournament to include two venues.
